illegal arrest of detained activist

Detained activist Opposition suspects police scandal

What did Bouffier Bergstedt of illegal arrest?
The arrest of political activists Jörg Bergstedt already caused five
years of violent conflict. For the opposition, there is now evidence
that behind the illegal police action, the then Interior Minister
Volker Bouffier (CDU) was.

According to Hesse's attorney Bergstedt police leadership, the action
at that time have deliberately planned. The new law refers to acts
which he claims to have received from the court and were apparently
remained under wraps for years. The police action was days before the
Home Office together with the then national police chief Norbert
Nedela been discussed, citing the "Frankfurter Rundschau" (Wednesday)
Bergstedt lawyer. The aim was to observe and arrest his client.

It then happened: The activist was on 14 May 2006 by police in
casting for four days in the so-called preventive detention taken. He
was charged with one wall in the vicinity of Boufflers's home and the
local CDU-smeared office and to have committed property damage.
However, Bergstedt was relieved just by the police: officers had under
surveillance and his observed time of the offense when playing
badminton. 2007, the Higher Regional Court in Frankfurt said the
police action illegal.

SPD and Greens call for clarification

Newly discovered records now stored near the suspect Bouffier was
unaware of the arrest of 47-year-olds, the SPD deputy Faeser Nancy
said on Wednesday. More than that: you may have caused the arrest even
Bouffier. Obviously he did not want to miss his "nemesis" a lesson, so
Faeser. Bergstedt has been "taken for no apparent reason for four days
in preventive detention." "This is liberty," said Faeser. The events
should be clarified in the Home Affairs Committee - Not by the
investigation committee.

The Greens have also called for clarification. "If these reports
should be only partially true, since not only of liberty in the office
but also in office and obstruction of justice prosecution of innocent
people in the room," said Green MEP Jürgen Frömmrich. The Left Party
deputy Hermann Schaus Bouffier asked to resign, should confirm the
suspicions against him: "A prime minister is [...], assume
responsibility for an unlawful deprivation of liberty is intolerable."

CDU: "Poor performance"

The CDU was not content in a first reaction on a Wednesday on the
case, the allegations by the SPD, but called "poor performance". The
CDU parliamentarian Alexander Bauer criticized the "lack of acting
talent of Mrs. Faeser". She had "the SPD-leaf reading Frankfurter
Rundschau and then presents itself as self-appointed national
commissioner anger. That was all she had to say to the journalists not
today," said Bauer.

FDP-man Wolfgang Greilich said that there was no case in the news.
"Now obviously already rich journalistic gossip and hearsay, to
convene press conferences," he criticized the actions of the SPD.
"Even the thinnest soup of SPD seems renewed by boiling patronize
despite everything over again."
